Georg takes his role as farmer and winemaker of his family domain very seriously, but has an easy laugh and relaxed manner. Blaufränkisch, the Burgenland's terroir-transparent grape, is the crown jewel of the estate and given several single vineyard bottlings. Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, Burgundian varietals, which have a centuries long history in the region are their main whites. Farming is practicing organic and cellar work is hands off with fermentation and aging in large, neutral, traditional Slovenian oak casks.

Wine Enthusiast

WE 93
"Slight reduction gives a funky edge to the earthy notes on the nose that are touched by lovely yellow apple freshness. It is on the bright palate that the full force of freshness shines through, like a burst of lemony, bright light that plays against a lovely chalky, fine-boned texture. Testament that Weissburgunder, aka Pinot Blanc, is such a vivid, underappreciated variety that nonetheless packs concentration, finesse and expression. Lovely now, it is certain to evolve. Drink now–2030." -Anne Krebiehl
