Super solid little wine in a big bottle. The acidity is there, but its wrapped up in very silky fruit, which itself is enveloped by a chalky dusty minerality. Felix feels balanced and complete, nothing is out of place, surprising at this price point. This is collaborative project between Weingut Wellanschitz in Nechenmarkt, Middle Burgenland grow the grapes organically, their son Stefan, a rising star in the natural wine world under the Kolfok label, makes the wine, and their importer, Winemonger, who sell some of the best Austrian wines in the US. It's nice to have talented friends.
