"Just as expressive from bottle as it was from barrel, the 2014 Tronquoy-Lalande is superb. Black cherry, plum, gravel, smoke, savory herbs, licorice and expressive floral notes abound in a rich, deeply textured Saint-Estèphe that will drink well with minimal cellaring. The plush, textured finish only adds to the wine's considerable appeal. Drink this pliant, expressive Saint-Estèphe over the next 15-20 years or more. This is a stellar showing. The blend is 56 % Merlot, 37 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 6 % Petit Verdot and 1 % Cabernet Franc." -Vinous

"Nuanced, deep crimson. Rich and sweet with zest, but above all, lots of freshness. Very dry finish again. Needs lots of time."

"From the same team as Château Montrose, this is always a great wine, full of finesse and drama. This is very good quality, with a lovely rich, deep texture with sexy, ripe fruit. The alcohol is perhaps the highest of the appellation in this vintage, but it's balanced. 1% Cabernet Franc rounds out the blend."

"A pure, racy version, with an iron-edged frame that keeps the red currant and damson plum fruit very focused. Mouthwatering tobacco and wet pebble accents are inlaid on the pleasantly austere finish. Well done."

"Fruit forward, this wine shows ripe blackberries and dark plums on the palate. It exudes a richness that is contrasted by intense acidity and lifted fruit flavors."
