"While the Minéral cuvée hails from some of the shallowest, poorest soils in Avize, Avizoise always shows some of the roundness and aromatics of the deeper soils of the Gros Yeux and Robarts parcels. It shows a little more of the heat of the year in 2018, too, with fleshy nectarine, lime and white pepper, deep and long with citrus oil yet retaining a beguiling, papery-delicate texture that all of Agrapart's wines seem to find. For a vintage when Blanc de Blancs can be a little simplistic, this is full of nerve and detail."

Vineyard
L’Avizoise comes from two of the estate’s oldest hillside parcels, the Grand Crus of Les Robards and La Voie D’Epernay. both of which have 50+ year old vines.
Soil
2 main types: predominantly limestone on upper hillsides, more clay towards the bottom of the slope (with a limestone subsoil).
Viticulture
Practicing organic; use of high quality organic composte for the soils and vines; all fruit is hand-harvested.
Vinification
It is fermented, with indigenous yeasts of course, in used 600 Liter barrels that Agrapart buys from Dagueneau and Olivier Lamy. Aged sur lie for 5 years on the cork; manual riddling; 5 gr/l dosage; SO2 50 mg/l.
Aging
Aged mostly in stainless steel, with 25% aged in used 600L casks.
