"Schistes" is the name of the special soil of Verenay. Similar to the soils of Cote Brune, they tend to render a more powerful version of Cote Rotie, but never without the elegance that is the hallmark of great Cote Rotie. This wine is a younger vines blend that showcases the special character of the village.
