Linkwood (Signatory Vintage)

A chance to taste Linkwood, a quietly respected Speyside malt that rarely appears under its own name, bottled by one of Scotland's most trusted independent bottlers.

Linkwood was founded in 1821 by Peter Brown on the outskirts of Elgin and is now owned by Diageo. Most of its whisky goes into blends, Johnnie Walker among them, and the main regular official single malt is a 12 Year Old in the Flora & Fauna series. That makes independent bottlings the main way to get to know it.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and is now based in Pitlochry, beside the tiny Edradour distillery he bought in 2002. Signatory buys individual casks from distilleries all over Scotland and bottles them as single vintages, with the distillation and bottling dates on the label. These Linkwoods are from the Un-Chillfiltered Collection, bottled at 46% without chill filtration and with natural colour, so little stands between the cask and the glass.

linkwood-signatory-vintage-speyside-single-malt-scotch-whisky-10-year-old-unchillfiltered-2008-sigwhiskey-pvt
Linkwood (Signatory Vintage), Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky 10 Year Old Unchillfiltered, 2008

Un-Chillfiltered Collection.
