Burghound

"Whiffs of herbal tea and spice add breadth to the cool, ripe and well-layered nose of various dark berries along with ample amounts of earth and sauvage nuances. There is excellent punch suffusing the succulent but powerful medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract before terminating in an almost painfully intense and hugely long finish. I really like the texture as this is generous yet very clearly constituted for extended cellaring. As it often is, this is the best wine in the range and with the most development potential."

"After being devastated by frost in 2016 and then ravaged by hail in 2018, the 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers marks a fine return to form. Offering up aromas of cassis, sweet spices and peonies, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, with terrific concentration, lively acids and a mineral finish. Above all, however, this is a very elegant, structurally refined Pruliers, without any of the youthful tannic asperity that this site can deliver." -Robert Parker

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
