Malbec from younger vines in a juicy pure style. It’s natural, but not funky, allowing the unique terroir (limestone and iron) to poke through the very easy-pleasing red fruit. Cahors in all but legal designation. Calmette — which farms biodynamically, employs indigenous yeast and eschews SO2 during fermentation — farms in Cahors’ limestone-rich plateau. The Kimmeridgian influence, plus higher altitude, lends a freshness that plays perfectly with Malbec’s natural intensity.
