L’Étoile’s 2020 Lalande de Pomerol is a quietly satisfying bottle of Right Bank Bordeaux, blending mostly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc for lift and structure. Grown on clay and gravel soils just north of Pomerol proper, this wine benefits from similar terroir, but offers a much gentler price point.

The 2020 vintage shows ripe black cherry, plum, mocha, and soft spice, framed by supple tannins and a round, medium-bodied texture. There’s just enough freshness to keep it balanced, and the oak is subtle, letting the fruit and earthiness come through.

Ideal with roast meats, mushroom dishes, or firm cheeses. This is a weeknight Bordeaux that drinks like a weekend treat—polished, classic, and easy to love.
