Usually we buy a Nebbiolo because we know the producer well and we are confident that they will make great wines at any level. In the case of Grimaldi, the process was the opposite: we tasted the Nebbiolo first and couldn't believe how delicious it was! It helps that it's one of the few remaining Nebbiolos from 2016 on the market. The cherry fruit here was nuanced and impeccably pure. The structure suggests nice development for at least a couple of years.
