"Kelley assembled her 2021 Mirabai from two famous Dundee Hills sites, Weber Vineyard (70%) and Maresh Vineyard (30%). The 2021 Mirabai is a beautiful wine with GREAT fruit. Alive in the glass, it changes throughout the meal. We found ourselves mesmerized by succulent aromas of strawberries flirting with black tea, rhubarb and spice, all floating on a buoyant yet sturdy palate. Ethereal comes to mind. VINEYARD
The 2021 Mirabai Pinot Noir was all sourced from the Dundee Hills AVA - 70% Weber Vineyard Pommard vines that are own rooted and planted in 1983 and 30% Maresh Vineyard Pommard vines that are own rooted and planted between 1978-1991.
SOIL
Red volcanic and alluvial soils
VITICULTURE
Farmed using organis and biodynamic practices
VINIFICATION
The two lots were fermented using all native yeats and about 30% whole clusters in small 1 -1.5 ton lots for 12-20 days. All cap management is manual and no pumpovers are employed. The wines are pressed at dryness, settled and put to barrel for native, malolactic fermentation.
AGING
Aged in neutral, French oak barrels for 10 months
