{"title":"Poisot","description":"\u003cp\u003eDomaine Poisot is one of Burgundy's quiet oddities: about two hectares, almost all of it grand cru, including a parcel of Romanée-Saint-Vivant just below Romanée-Conti.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe vines go back to 1902, when Marie Poisot, daughter of Louis Latour, inherited a share of her father's estate. For decades the family's vines were worked by Maison Louis Latour. In 2010 Rémi Poisot, a descendant of Marie, took back what remained and started making the wine himself. He came to it after 25 years as an officer in the French navy, having trained the year before with a family friend in Aloxe-Corton.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAlongside the Romanée-Saint-Vivant, the domaine has grand cru Corton-Bressandes and Corton-Charlemagne and a little premier cru Pernand-Vergelesses. The vines are old, and Rémi works out of a cellar in Aloxe-Corton. He farms without herbicides or insecticides and ages the grand crus in François Frères barrels, roughly half of them new.
