Family Farm Vineyard is one of the most accessible and expressive sites in the Rhys portfolio—planted to tightly spaced Pinot vines on sandy loam soils in San Mateo County. While it often drinks well young, the 2015 vintage has now entered a sweet spot, where primary fruit, savory nuance, and earthy depth are in perfect balance.

Expect aromas of dried cherry, rose petal, cinnamon, and autumn leaves, with a graceful, mid-weight palate framed by soft tannins and gentle acidity. There’s a touch of whole-cluster spice, but it’s integrated, adding complexity without any edge. This is mature California Pinot at its most elegant—a wine that whispers rather than shouts.
