Winery Sixteen 600 is where his own family bottles what he grows.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eCoturri, whose grandfather came from Lucca, came to organic farming the hard way: as a young grower in the 1970s he was poisoned by the herbicide paraquat. In 1979 he founded Enterprise Vineyards, which went on to farm hundreds of acres for some of the best names in Sonoma and Napa, including Laurel Glen and Mayacamas. He practices biodynamics without signing up to its spiritual side, and he helped win recognition for the Moon Mountain District AVA, a rugged, stony stretch of the Mayacamas range. He founded the winery in 2007 with his wife, Arden Kremer, and their sons Sam and Max, who now also run the vineyard business day to day.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe wines are small-batch, single-vineyard bottlings, all from certified organic vineyards farmed by the family. The focus is Grenache, other Rhône varieties and field blends, plus Cabernet and Zinfandel as a nod to Sonoma's heritage.
