Rene Rostaing, VdP Collines Rhodaniennes Lezardes Syrah, 2016

Rostaing is one of the great masters of Cote Rotie, and this is wine he produces entirely from vineyards within Cote Rotie. Some of the grapes come from young vines in Tupin;  others from the lower slopes of the northern part of the AOC,  which tend  to produce a less structured, easier-drinking wine. The wine is made in a  traditional Cote Rotie style, with a significant portion of whole clusters.

The 2017 is part of a string of fabulous Northern Rhone vintages, and wines like this give an early opportunity to start enjoying!
