{"product_id":"abraham-weissburgunder-vom-muschelkalk-2023","title":"Abraham, Weissburgunder Vom Muschelkalk, 2023","description":"Slabs of shell limestone — Muschelkalk — turn up in the deep red clay of this vineyard, and that's what the wine is named for. It comes from the estate's highest site, Gfill above Appiano Monte at 600 meters, where 60-year-old pergola-trained Pinot Bianco faces east on Dolomite rock, clay and chalk at the foot of the Mendel mountains. Marlies and Martin Abraham bought the parcel in 2015, bottled it on its own from 2016, and the result is the tighter, more structured of their two old-vine Weissburgunders — very alpine, tense, built on deep acidity, in their own words. They're self-taught: the family sold grapes to the Eppan cooperative until 2011, and the winery as it exists today was born the year they walked away. The farming is certified organic with some biodynamic practice, fermentations run on native yeasts in neutral oak, and the wine spends nine months on its lees before going into bottle unfined, unfiltered and barely sulfured. If you think of Pinot Bianco as the polite option, this is the bottle that argues otherwise.","brand":"Polaner [POL]","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46481679548473,"sku":"NYC-W-POL-`POL`-091026-28","price":43.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0125\/1518\/0601\/files\/Abraham-Weissburgunder-Vom-Muschelkalk-2023-White-Wine-Flatiron-Wines-Spirits-New-York.jpg?v=1789569599","url":"https:\/\/nyc.flatiron-wines.com\/products\/abraham-weissburgunder-vom-muschelkalk-2023","provider":"Flatiron Wines \u0026 Spirits NYC","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
