The dry-farmed vines grow on fine sandy granitic loam deposited over centuries by the Mokelumne River. Arnot-Roberts gets just one ton of fruit a year, enough for two or three barrels, and treats it with their signature restraint rather than the usual high-alcohol Zin playbook. The 2020 is balanced and fleshy with elegant briary black fruit.
