The label carries a calabash, the traditional Zulu clay vessel normally used for beer, which she reimagined by filling it with grapes; it's a fair emblem for what she does with Sauvignon Blanc. This is a dry white from Stellenbosch fruit, and in the vintages we've tasted it's been a Sauvignon that goes well past the usual squeeze of grapefruit — it is a grape that too often arrives as pure acid and nothing else. That extra dimension is why this bottle keeps overdelivering for what it costs.
