The sand kept phylloxera out, so these vines never needed grafting, and it lends the wine an unmistakable polish and supple, mineral texture. Bedrock now farms the site and bottles it as a field blend of old-vine Carignan, Mourvèdre, Zinfandel, Alicante, Mission, and Palomino, fermented with native yeast and aged in a mix of French and Austrian oak (around 12% new). The result is pure, lifted, and finely tannined.
