A remarkable aged spirit, comprised of a blend of vintage-dated Armagnac from the 1868, 1897, 1926, 1934, 1956, 1965, and 1970 vintages. The blended spirit is then aged in ex-Islay scotch barrels, imparting a smoky, savory finish. A whisk(e)y lover's armangnac if we ever saw one!
An interesting tidbit for the oenophiles, too — since Armagnac is a grape brandy, the 1868 vintage-dated Armagnac is made from pre-phylloxera vines that were NOT grafted onto American rootstock. Quite possibly one of the only chances any of us will have to taste a spirit with one foot in the 19th century!
