It's the flagship of a small family cellar in Cambados, and the big bottle makes sense when a whole table and a pile of shellfish are involved. Xurxo Alba (say SURE-sho, the Galician form of Jorge) comes from a family that farmed Albariño in Galicia's Salnés Valley for generations. They only began bottling their own in 2006, once he finished his oenology studies. His cellar sits next door to his parents' restaurant and a little shop selling local artisanal foods, which tells you how this wine is meant to be drunk: at the table, with whatever came out of the water that morning. Every Albamar wine ferments on native yeast. Xurxo farms as naturally as rainy Galicia allows, and he makes sure the growers he buys from do too. The family owns only about 2.5 hectares and sources from about 10 in total. That's how Rías Baixas works: it's a region of smallholdings, and a careful grower like this one is exactly what's worth hunting for, especially in a format built for sharing.","brand":"Skurnik [MSK]","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50929431019577,"sku":"NYC-W-MSK-`ES-ALB-01-25M`-102326-1","price":74.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0125\/1518\/0601\/files\/IMG-5343_eb088bdd-ae73-4293-a0a9-dcba0cd921e8.jpg?v=1793052049","url":"https:\/\/nyc.flatiron-wines.com\/products\/bodegas-albamar-rias-baixas-albarino-2025-1-5l","provider":"Flatiron Wines \u0026 Spirits NYC","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
