"The 2004 Barbaresco Santo Stefano is the most stern and nervous of Giacosa's 2004 Barbarescos. In any other tasting the 2004 would likely come out ahead of the pack, but here, with greater context, it is easier to get a full view of the wine. Still, the 2004 Santo Stefano is a gorgeous bottle of wine. Scents of rose petal, anise and cinnamon add shades of nuance throughout." -Vinous
