{"product_id":"burlotto-barolo-acclivi-2021","title":"Burlotto, Barolo Acclivi, 2021","description":"Burlotto calls Acclivi the truest picture of what Verduno can do, and they only make it in years when the quality is there. Fabio Alessandria, great-great-grandson of the founder, sees it as the old idea of Barolo Riserva. Rather than bottling one cru, he makes a strict selection from the estate's best and oldest Verduno vineyards (Monvigliero, Neirane, Rocche dell'Olmo and Boscatto), and the choice of vines and the final blend change with each vintage. Verduno is the northernmost commune in the Barolo zone. The family calls this wine a \"liquid postcard from Verduno,\" made from historic vineyards on steep slopes dusted with pale earth: calcareous clay, sand and silt over the fossil Marls of Sant'Agata and the Cassano Spinola Formation. Neirane faces west, while Rocche dell'Olmo and Boscatto face east, all at about 360–370 metres. The grapes are picked by hand and fermented in open oak vats. The wine then spends 20 to 33 months in large oak casks, depending on the vintage, and at least nine more months resting in bottle before release. If Burlotto's Monvigliero shows Verduno through one great site, Acclivi gets at the same thing by blending, and it's worth knowing both. Serve it at 16–18°C (60–65°F), as the family recommends.","brand":"Private","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51021213106233,"sku":"NYC-[PVT]-SRSN10261026-103026-23-3","price":239.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0125\/1518\/0601\/files\/flatiron-generic-bottle.jpg?v=1793448556","url":"https:\/\/nyc.flatiron-wines.com\/products\/burlotto-barolo-acclivi-2021","provider":"Flatiron Wines \u0026 Spirits NYC","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
