{"product_id":"burlotto-barolo-monvigliero-2011","title":"Burlotto, Barolo Monvigliero, 2011","description":"Burlotto's Monvigliero is Nebbiolo made in a way almost nobody tries anymore: some of the crush still done by foot, and fermentation in upright wooden vats. The site is the northernmost vineyard in the Barolo zone. It's a fully south-facing amphitheatre near the Tanaro river, which shapes its microclimate, and its soil is Sant'Agata fossil marl: silt, clay and sand laid down in sheets just a few millimetres thick. The family counts it among the finest vineyards in the Langa. Their 2.02 hectares sit in the central bowl of the hill, and the oldest block there was planted in 1958. Fabio Alessandria works four generations on from the Commendatore who founded the estate in 1850, and he has changed remarkably little: indigenous yeasts and very little temperature control. This house has always made wine to last. Its bottles went along on Duke Luigi Amedeo's 1899 North Pole expedition, and the Duke wrote that the wine had kept in perfect condition. A 2011 is a chance to see what this old-school method gives back with time in bottle. The family recommends serving it at 16–18°C (60–65°F).","brand":"Private","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50524966649913,"sku":"NYC-[CNSN]-TTSUMMER0826-092226-92-9","price":249.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0125\/1518\/0601\/files\/Burlotto-Barolo-Monvigliero-2011-Red-Wine-Flatiron-Wines-Spirits-New-York_2b077e2d.jpg?v=1790154352","url":"https:\/\/nyc.flatiron-wines.com\/products\/burlotto-barolo-monvigliero-2011","provider":"Flatiron Wines \u0026 Spirits NYC","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
