Luca Currado and Elena Penna left Vietti in January 2023 and started this deliberately small family venture with their children, Michele and Giulia. They farm every one of their sites organically. Bricco Lago comes from their younger vines (up to 25 years old) in San Sebastiano, on clay and limestone that runs down from the church of San Sebastiano toward the only natural lake in the Langhe. The older vines go into their Nebbiolo d'Alba San Sebastiano. In this part of Monforte, altitude and cool air currents push the harvest late. The couple also ferments whole berries rather than whole clusters, specifically to avoid too much power.
