Les Leriens comes from east-facing vines in Chatillon-sur-Marne on clay-limestone over chalk, roughly 45% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Meunier and 10% Pinot Noir, so the Meunier gives it flesh and orchard fruit while the Chardonnay keeps the frame tight. Fabien Caze is the tenth generation of his family to grow grapes on the right bank of the Marne, but the estate as it exists now dates to 2013, when he carved 2.66 hectares out of the family holdings and started bottling on his own after training with Chartogne-Taillet.
