Two friends founded it in Puligny in 1984 (one of them was Jean-René Chartron), and it still uses its blue-bordered label as a nod to that history. The winemaking team calls its approach a modern take that respects the house's heritage. They work with grapes from plots they know intimately and treat vinification as a matter of precision. Here they've turned that approach north to Chablis, which sits near Auxerre on a small river called the Serein (\"serene\").
