{"product_id":"chateau-la-tour-carnet-haut-medoc-2018","title":"Chateau La Tour Carnet, Haut-Medoc, 2018","description":"This is real classified Bordeaux, a Fourth Growth in the 1855 classification, from a Haut-Médoc estate that gets far less attention than the famous Pauillac names nearby. That's exactly why it's worth a look. It also comes with better history than most: La Tour Carnet is a moated medieval castle with a tower from 1120. It's named after a squire who helped his lord hold out against the French crown at the end of the Hundred Years' War, and the family of Michel de Montaigne once owned it. The vines grow in Saint-Laurent Médoc on a thick layer of gravel over chalky clay. They're planted densely, at 8,000 to 10,000 vines per hectare for the grand vin, and farmed without herbicides. Bernard Magrez owns the estate along with three other Bordeaux classed growths, including Pape Clément. The 2018 is a good way into classed-growth Médoc for anyone who wants the history and the structure without chasing trophy labels.","brand":"Monsieur Touton [TOU]","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50541093486649,"sku":"NYC-W-TOU-`1790-18`-092326-13","price":52.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0125\/1518\/0601\/files\/IMG-4772.jpg?v=1790716086","url":"https:\/\/nyc.flatiron-wines.com\/products\/chateau-la-tour-carnet-haut-medoc-2018","provider":"Flatiron Wines \u0026 Spirits NYC","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
