It's a co-planting of Rkatsiteli and Kakhuri Mtsvane from Sachaleebi, a single hectare on brown forest soil and calcareous clay in the village of Vachnadziani, a micro-zone of Mukuzani. Nino Chitoshvili came to this by an unlikely route: a Tbilisi pianist by training who fell for wine through philosophy and art, worked as a wine tour guide, and buried her first qvevri in her own courtyard for the 2017 vintage. She still does essentially all the vineyard work herself, farming organically and building the estate parcel by parcel, and total production across all her wines tops out around 10,000 bottles a year.
