What does quality mean? How can I assess the quality of a wine that might not be my favorite style? Are more expensive wines “better” quality, and why or why not? Do regional classifications matter? This theoretical discussion and semi-blind tasting will focus on the dance of personal preference, wine hierarchy, and producer’s intention, to try and figure out if “quality” is an objective description.
Flatiron team member and Wine Minx®️ Annie Edgerton is fascinated by what makes a wine a “quality” wine and whether that can truly be assessed objectively. Join us for a tasting of five amazing wines as we explore our own preferences—and those the wine world calls attention to—to see if “quality” is something that can be universally tasted, or is it just a sham. (We'll also learn what “FBLIICCATEDX” means!)
This class will begin at 6:00pm on Monday, July 24 and run for approximately 90 minutes as we taste five wines. Wines discussed in class will be available for purchase with a discount available to attendees only. Seating is limited.
