David Duband is making great wines exclusively from the Côte-de-Nuits. He loves whole cluster fermentations. He said, "Once I had tasted old bottles from Dujac and DRC made with whole clusters I knew I wanted to make similarly aromatic wines." His business partner François Feuillet bankrolled the purchase of Jacky Truchot's vineyards in 2005. Viticulture is a mix of organic & biodynamic methods but not certified as such.
"There is a whiff of herbal tea sitting atop the pure essence of pomegranate, red cherry and earth along with a hint of the sauvage. The lighter weight flavors possess a beguiling sense of verve that carries over to the youthfully austere and mildly rustic finale. This too could use a bit more depth but it's undeniably pretty." -Allen Meadows
