Although it is among Sonoma County’s newer formal viticultural \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: 'new york', georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\"\u003edesignations, having received recognition in 2013, the Moon Mountain District contains some of the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: 'new york', georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\"\u003ecounty’s oldest and most prestigious vineyards, dating to 1858.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 16px;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: new york,georgia,serif;\"\u003eOne of the first AVAs in Northern California to practice organic viticulture, today nearly 50% of the planted acres are certified organic.
