That's the kind of year Tokaji Aszú lives for, and this 6 Puttonyos makes the most of it. Disznókő is one of the few Tokaj estates in a single piece, with its vines on the south and west slopes of three small volcanic hills in Mezőzombor. Every batch of aszú berries was made separately. Some soaked whole in actively fermenting must for two days, and others were gently crushed and steeped for 12 hours, before the wine spent two years in barrel (only 10% of it new). The result is rich but bright, not syrupy, so sweet-wine skeptics should give it a try. It's drinking now and will age 30 years or more.
