The Charles domaine is a small estate in the center of the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, comprised of fourteen hectares in Volnay, Pommard, Meursault, and Beaune. They began making wine in 1960 and now Pascal and his two daughters Pauline and Marie run the domaine. This is a lovely Beaune Rouge, 100% destemmed, indigenous yeasts, fermented in concrete over 15 days, and aged 12 months in "menhir" oak barrels. Powerful yet finessed, with notes of sweet fruit, licorice, and balanced oak.

"Perfumed, pristine blackberry and raspberry flavors abound in this fresh-fruited, juicy Pinot Noir. Vinified in stainless steel and matured in amphora, it's a bright, concentrated wine with translucent fruit." -Anna Lee C.Iijima

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!

Delicious

Enjoyed it over two days. Everything I like about red Burgundy. Would probably age well.
