{"product_id":"domaine-de-vernus-regnie-2023","title":"Domaine de Vernus, Regnie, 2023","description":"Régnié is the Beaujolais cru people forget to ask for, and this bottling from 43-year-old Gamay vines makes a good case for remembering it. Domaine de Vernus is a young estate, founded in 2019 in the hamlet of Vernus in Régnié-Durette, but nothing about it was rushed. Frédéric Jametton and Guillaume Rouget picked their vineyard plots one by one from 14 different growers, then brought back an old building that hadn't been used for winemaking in decades. The vines are goblet-pruned in the old Beaujolais way. In the cellar the work is careful rather than flashy: grapes are picked and sorted by hand, fully destemmed and fermented with wild yeasts over three weeks, then aged for ten months, half in oak barrels and half in steel tanks. Régnié's pink granite usually gives a slightly spicier take on Gamay than its neighbors, and the producers think this one will reward patience, suggesting five to ten years in the cellar. Only 5,890 bottles were made, so it's worth grabbing a few to drink now and a few to see how it develops.","brand":"Barriere Freres [MHW] [BRRFR]","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50854816186425,"sku":"NYC-W-BRRFR-`BAF107487-23`-101926-27","price":37.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0125\/1518\/0601\/files\/IMG-5194.jpg?v=1792529991","url":"https:\/\/nyc.flatiron-wines.com\/products\/domaine-de-vernus-regnie-2023","provider":"Flatiron Wines \u0026 Spirits NYC","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
