Domaine Lagille builds on it. The family has farmed at Treslon, in the Vallée de l'Ardre west of Reims, since 1818, and Meunier accounts for more than half of their seven-odd hectares. Grande Réserve is the only blended wine in the estate's core range — the parcel cuvées alongside it are each a single grape from a single site — so think of this as the house speaking in full sentences: orchard fruit and a gentle pastry warmth from Meunier, lifted and tightened by Chardonnay. The wine passes through well-seasoned barrels and the dosage is kept low, which leaves it dry and clear-eyed rather than plush.
