It's the more powerful of the estate's two cuvees, mostly old-vine Grenache rounded out with Mourvedre and Clairette, aged in large foudre and bottled unfined and unfiltered. This back-vintage 2011 has had well over a decade to soften, trading primary fruit for the mature, garrigue-and-leather complexity that makes old southern Rhone so rewarding.
