'Les Grechons' is a Premier Cru in Ladoix, planted to Chardonnay on the eastern flank of the hill of Corton, with shallow, gravelly soil and vines 50 to 60 years old (the name itself nods to gravel). It's vinified partly in tank and partly in French oak, then rested before bottling, giving a white with both cut and texture. Ladoix flies under the radar, which makes whites like this a savvy find.
