Morey-Coffinet farms 0.65 hectares near the top of the slope just south of the village, southeast-facing, on stony ground with almost no topsoil at all, most of it planted between 1985 and 1990 and its upper section the steepest vineyard in Chassagne. Thibault Morey raises it fifteen months in 228- and 350-litre barrels, about a third new, and bottles it unfiltered. 2024 brought near-constant rain and a summer spent fighting mildew, redeemed by a sunny August and a dry September, producing whites of moderate alcohol and real precision, a classical vintage in the mould of 2021. Cailleret's natural authority keeps that leanness from turning austere.
