Magnums of this very special wine in impeccable condition!

One of the original domaines to begin bottling themselves (back in the 1940s), Roumier quickly moved into the very top tier of Burgundy producers. Specialists in Chambolle Musigny, they produced some of the most achingly pure and elegant wines from anywhere, and consequently the demand for their small production is enormous. Roumier's wines are strictly allocated, and we only occasionally acquire sufficient quantities to post online, so be sure to grab bottles when you see them!

Professional Reviews

Burghound

BH 94
"This is also lightly reduced and it's enough to blur the underlying nuances of the nose save for a whiff of herbal tea. Otherwise there is excellent power and drive to the intense and even more muscular broad-shouldered flavors that culminate in an explosive, dusty and very, very tightly wound finish. Despite the excellent size and weight, this remains beautifully proportioned and should age effortlessly for several decades. In a word, terrific." -Allen Meadow

"The 2017 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru was showing quite a lot of reduction on the nose when I visited (Christophe Roumier was taken aback, as it had been racked three weeks earlier). Fortunately, the palate shows great potential; it’s as beautifully balanced as ever, with a fine bead of acidity. This is more understated and less outgoing than other vintages encountered from barrel, and not quite as persistent on the finish, but with a fine dash of black pepper on the aftertaste. There is something very assured about this Bonnes-Mares, though this year, it is Les Amoureuses that sends tingles down the spine." -Neal Martin

Robert Parker

RP 94-96
"The 2017 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is one of the wines of the vintage this year, unfurling in the glass with a profound bouquet of red and black cherries, espresso roast, dark chocolate, peony and subtle hints of forest floor. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and layered, with striking concentration and dimension, rich but fine-grained structuring tannins and a bright line of animating acidity, concluding with a finish that's simultaneously chalky and distinctly floral. This will be one of the most long-lived 2017 red Burgundies." -William Kelley

"Though somewhat brooding, this smoky, licorice-tinged red features black cherry, plum, iron and spice flavors. Solidly built and expanding on the long, spicy aftertaste. Impeccably balanced, but needs to stretch out a little. Best from 2023 through 2045." -Bruce Sanderson
