Eduardo Torres Acosta grew up on Tenerife, where his father was a postman with a small plot of vines, and in 2012 he moved from one volcanic island to another, interning with Arianna Occhipinti in Vittoria and then working as enologist at Andrea Franchetti's Passopisciaro before launching his own project on Etna's north side in 2014. For the first few years he trucked his fruit back to the Occhipinti cellar, which is how the wines ended up under the modest IGT Terre Siciliane designation he still uses today by choice. The blend is mostly Nerello Mascalese with roughly fifteen percent of other varieties, including Nerello Cappuccio and the grape Sicilians call Alicante, farmed organically and vinified with a light hand.
