Marc Hochar of the legendary Chateau Musar will visit Flatiron Wine School on Thursday, October 26 at 6pm on our mezzanine. These beloved wines from Lebanon's Bekaa Valley have enchanted wine lovers for generations. Founded by a 20-year-old Gaston Hochar in 1930, Chateau Musar was the inspired culmination of both Lebanon’s 6,000-year winemaking tradition and Hochar's travels in Bordeaux.

Marc, Gaston's grandson, will join us to examine the amazing Musar range and, naturally, its capacity to age, in honor of this estate's world-renowned affinity for beautifully matured bottles. This masterclass is not to be missed.

Seating is very limited. The cost of this seminar is $40 and a $20 credit at the store will be extended to each guest for a future purchase. We hope you can join us Thursday, October 26 at 6pm on our mezzanine for this very special event.

A Back-Vintage Bordeaux Bonanza from Château Poujeaux

Tucked in the tiny Left Bank appellation of Moulis-en-Médoc, Poujeaux makes supple but classically-styled wines that are as good or better than many cru classés. Give a bottle of Poujeaux the proper aging, and it will develop that beautiful mature Bordeaux perfume: leather, tobacco, soft cheese, and sweet dark red fruits.

Viva La Lebanon!

I have been a fan of Musar wines for quite a few years, and the offerings at this amazing tasting were no exception! To get to try the range of Chateau Musar, and to be able to do so with Marc Hochar leading the way was a real treat. The wines were all delicious, both the whites and the reds. The 2004 and the 1998 reds were particularly lush and delicious! Thanks so much for a great evening!
