In this class, Annie will discuss what tools are necessary, the primary base spirits, popular (and nerdy) liqueurs, vermouths, bitters, syrups, tinctures, techniques, and more.

Annie, a Certified Specialist of Spirits, will explore the history and techniques of distillation and mixology, the four core cocktail categories, and share five different samples of delicious libations to help you confirm your cocktail cravings and give you the confidence to explore and experiment on your own. Whether you have a shoebox in your closet or a custom-built speakeasy in your basement, Annie will cover everything you need to create your perfect home bar.

Taught by Flatiron's own Annie Edgerton, this class will begin at 6:00pm on Monday, July 15 and run for approximately 90 minutes. Products tasted in class will be available for purchase with a discount available to attendees only. Seating is limited.

Cantina del Pino's Langhe Nebbiolo — with Barbaresco Pedigree & Terroir

We've told the story of Cantina del Pino before, including the tragic early death of Renato Vacca in 2020, and the taking over of the Cantina by his wife Franca (who we were honored to host at our shop for a staff tasting a few weeks ago). We have just received another small allocation from the winery, and this time it is a few cases of their insanely delicious Langhe Nebbiolo. It was so good that it made us stop to think about what made all this deliciousness happen.
