Regis Forey makes a range of traditional, old school Pinot Noir in the heart of Vosne-Romanée. His domaine is a total of 10 hectares and includes holdings from Nuits-St-Georges to Morey-St-Denis, and include some top 1er crus in Vosne. But the wines (and Regis himself) are not flashy, and indeed they can take careful cellaring to unlock their full potential. These are the very qualities that first drew famed importer Neal Rosenthal to the estate back in 1982. Indeed this was one of the first Burgundy producers in a portfolio that is now famous for a slew of top-notch domaines and classic wines. What drew Neal to this domaine are the same qualities that his entire portfolio exemplifies: pure, unadulterated expressions of terroir.

"The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Les St. Georges boasts extraordinary length on the palate and fabulous vibrancy from start to finish. Layers of black fruit, spices, tar and licorice build to the huge, powerful finish. What can I say? This is stunning juice. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. This is a terrific set of wines from Regis Forey. Quality is strong throughout the range, but Forey has really done a stellar job with his top 1er Crus and Grand Crus, where the wines truly sing. This is one domaine where the quality difference between 2009 and 2010 is quite striking. My strong preference is for the 2010s. I tasted a few of the 2010 village wines from bottle, and the rest of the wines from barrel. The wines in barrel had not been racked." -Robert Parker
