The Chiquet family has been growing grapes in the Pinot Noir-centric Vallée de la Marne since the mid-1700s, and they were among the first to make and bottle Champagne under their own name, in the aftermath of World War I. The very way we think of Champange today would not exist, were it not for the many generations of Chiquets devoted to their vines.

Each Chiquet Champagne, even the entry-level nonvintage wines, comes from Premier or Grand Cru sites within Champagne. Chiquet is perhaps best known for producing a singular, outstanding blanc de blancs Champagne from the Grand Cru Pinot Noir village of Aÿ; it manages to express both the mineral charm of Chardonnay-based Champagne and the unique terroir of the village.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 91
"The NV Brut Tradition, based on 2013 in this release, is absolutely delicious, not to mention a terrific introduction to the range and a great value. The natural richness and breadth of A come through loud and clear. Pear, spice and floral notes build effortlessly as this creamy, super-inviting Champagne shows off its alluring personality. The Tradition is a real overachiever in its price range. Disgorged: February, 2019." -Vinous

Robert Parker

RP 90
"Disgorged in May 2019, the latest release of Chiquet’s supremely dependable NV Brut Premier Cru Tradition reveals an inviting bouquet of crisp yellow orchard fruit, fresh peach, honeycomb, Meyer lemon and warm biscuits. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, with a youthfully frothy but refined mousse, a succulent core of fruit and ripe but racy balancing acids. It’s already drinking well." -Robert Parker

WS 91
"A bright, snappy Champagne, mineral-driven and crisp in texture, displaying a range of tangy apple and kumquat fruit with hints of smoked almond, biscuit and lemon thyme. Disgorged November 2019."
