The family farms on the edge of the Agriates Desert, an empty, rugged stretch of northern Corsica with no towns, one paved road and a single hamlet. You need a 4x4 to reach the vines. The hot, dry Libecciu wind blows there all year, and the vines have to be plowed constantly so their roots dig deep for water. Christian Giacometti, who founded the estate in 1987, has been handing over to his daughter Sarah and son Simon, and their Sciaccarellu experiments are a big part of what makes this house worth following. The farming is organic.
