Gianfranco Bovio, Barolo Gattera, 2016

$59.99
Available for Same Day Delivery (or Pickup) in Manhattan.

Gattera is a wonderful La Morra Cru that has just a little more clay and limestone than other crus in the village,  which tends to give it a little more weight and breadth. Still, this presents classic La Morra floral aromas and is an incredibly inviting wine.

Bovio is a true La Morra specialists, making Barolo exclusively from La Morra until a very recent acquisition of vines just across the communal boundary with Castiglione. Today, we highlight two 2016s that scream La Morra. They make Barolo in a traditional style that is still quite accessible young, thanks to reduced aging in wood and the natural terroir of La Morra.

Gianfranco Bovio was for a long time simply too small to produce enough wine to make it much beyond their own restaurant and a few neighbors. They are a true La Morra specialist, making Barolo exclusively from La Morra until a very recent acquisition of vines just across the communal boundary with Castiglione.
