Bergamot is the citrus that scents Earl Grey tea, and Gota's view is that Touriga Nacional gives off that same perfume. The house sources its Touriga from three Dão subregions (Castendo, Serra da Estrela and Alva), from small dry-farmed plots on granite and clay at 200–300 metres. Winds coming off the mountainsides keep the grapes fresh there. Gota is run by Natalia Jessa, who is from Poland and came to Porto by way of Ireland, and who makes affordable, delicious Portuguese wine. Her motto, \"Drink it, don't overthink it,\" sums up the appeal: you get real Dão character without any fuss.","brand":"Regal Wine Co.
