Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 95
"The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis Vieilles Vigners 1er Cru comes from a single parcel that traverses Chenevery (25%0 and Faconnieres (75%). This comes from a plot planted with selection massale. It has a very well defined bouquet with mineral-rich black fruit, wilted red rose petals and a faint tobacco scent. The palate is very fresh and saline, the tannins finely chiseled with a discrete crescendo towards the finish. This is just a beautiful Morey-Saint-Denis that should not be ignored. Seven and a half barrels this year." -Vinous

What importer Rosenthal Wine Merchant has to say about this wine...

This special cuvée is perhaps the most consistently exceptional wine of this domaine, with a depth that is always generous and appealing. It has it all: presence, length, power and finesse. The grapes for this wine are sourced from a contiguous parcel of .53 hectares that traverses the two 1er Cru sites of “Les Faconnieres” and “Les Chenevery” which sit immediately beneath the Grand Cru “Clos de la Roche”, and possesses that ineffable Grand Cru stature. The vines were planted in 1947 and 1960.

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
