Carillon farms 0.44 hectares of Les Pitangerets, replanted in 2020, so this is a young-vine wine by design, and he uses a lighter hand accordingly: a year in barrel with 15% new oak, then six months in stainless steel before bottling at eighteen months. He describes it as full-bodied in the mouth, silky, with a bright finish. 2024 was one of the hardest growing seasons in recent Burgundian memory - a wet spring, relentless downy mildew and a very small crop - but the whites that came through show the tension and classic proportion the warm years lack.
